4 Reasons Why I’m Not Posting About The Nordstrom Sale

Ah. The good ol’ Nordstrom Sale, #NSale, Influencer’s Christmas In July, WHATEVER YOU WANNA CALL IT.

While I do shop the shit out of the Nordstrom sale (not as much this year as I have in the past), my love for content around the sale has died down dramatically. To be honest, it’s hard to get creative because it seems like everything has been done. So here are some reasons why I’m not dedicating posts to the Nordstrom sale.

It’s overwhelming

Whether you’re a blogger or not, the Nordstrom sale is extremely overwhelming. On one hand, you have a ton of bloggers trying to purchase pieces, shoot said pieces, then write and promote content. And on the other hand, you have the consumers being bombarded by bloggers’ content.

It’s just a lot.

It’s not worth it (for me)

Surprise! The Nordstrom sale doesn’t convert a ton for me. Sure, I make a bit more than usual, but it’s not worth ALL of the effort I’d have to put in. With my full time job currently in the midst of one of the busiest times of the year, I just don’t have the time to produce quality content surrounding the sale.

Let other people do their thing

Instead of flooding feeds, why not let the masters get to work? There are some people who KILL the Nordstrom sale content. Instead of rushing and just putting out a collage of products they like (which is totally what I would do), there are some girls who put SO much thought into their content. Some of my favorite posts so far are from

,

Laura Leigh

, and

Grace

. I also thought if I could be one less post for someone to sift through, that I’m doing the blogger god’s work as a citizen;) (#themorningtoastlingo…please let me know if you know what I’m talking about)

A lot of bloggers also bank on commission from this sale. Which is obviously amazing. But for me, most of my income comes from sponsored content. I don’t make a ton on affiliate programs, so it’s just another reason for me to not put all of my efforts into the sale.

My brand isn’t about shopping anymore

I don’t know why that kind of makes me a little sad. My blog was never really a shopping website to begin with, but I don’t want people to think that this isn’t a fashion blog anymore. I always feel like I need to reiterate this a million times. Although many of my posts are now long form, I still ALWAYS want to incorporate fashion into my blog. I love inspiring people to wear what makes them feel good, and maybe even try some trends because of myself.

With that being said, I’m shopping the sale (like 5 orders already, UGH), so I’ll of course share what I’ve bought (

).

I just wanted to give some insight on my thoughts on the Nordstrom sale, and why I don’t really plan my editorial calendars around it. I, in no way, am trying to bash people that are dedicating time and effort to the sale — I hope I didn’t come across that way! This is just a personal decision I made for my brand/business. I’ve also gotten asked about where my sale content is, and I’m actually just curious to get my readers’ thoughts on it!
